Creative Selfie 59 to 60 Project Series
During the Creative Selfie 59 to 60 project I took a self-portrait once a month from the day I turned 59 years old until I turn 60 years old. My equipment used is my NIKON D850 (60mm lens) or Iphone 10R. Followed by creatively processing the photo using Photoshop, Lightroom and IPhone apps.
Valkyrie
In creating this piece I was going for the female warrior vibe from the mythical ages.
Gaea – Goddss Of The Earth
In creating this piece I was going for the mother nature vibe.
Madame Rose De Pompadour
In creating this piece I was going for a Victorian Madame with over exaggerated makeup.
Dizzy Daisy Bubbles the Clown
I have always been amazed by folks who make up their faces to be clowns. This was my first attempt at putting on clown makeup. Not an easy thing to do. This is definitely an art form. Hats off to the clowns around the world.
Lady In The Blue Hat
Not sure what I was going for when I created this piece. The hat is really red. It is the type of hat that would be worn by a lady in the Red Hat Society. Well anyway, I changed the color of the hat to blue in Photoshop. Then just layered on elements that I felt with the color of the hat.
Astronaut Woman
For this piece I wanted to do something with a space theme. I had other visions in my head but was having issues making it a reality. Saw this space helmet in a magazine. Figured I could do something with it. Scanned it in and layered way.
The Faceless Woman with the Big Hair
For this piece I took my self-portrait with a spoon in front of my face. During post processing I added a face to the spoon. In addition I added some more of my hair to to give the look of big hair. On top of that I added additional elements with a grunge effect.
Ilayda ~ Water Fairy
Not sure why but I always like to incorporate fairy wings into a piece. Laid my black plexiglass on the table to get my reflection. Placed piece of lacy material on my head. Decided to include my glass ball at the last minute. During post processing I added ripples to my reflection to make it look like it was water. Added the butterfly in the glass ball followed by some fairy wings. For the finishing touch I added sun rays to the right and some bokeh sparkles to the back.
Flower Portrait Explosion Effect
Another thing I have always wanted to try with one of my self-portraits was create a piece where it looks like flowers are exploding out of my face. Converted my self-portrait to black and white except for the blue marble in my teeth. I left the marble blue. Then I took two chunks out of my face and rotated them slightly. Added a variety of floral pieces. Along with a couple of butterflies and a hummingbird. You see can how to to this at this site Photoshop Tutorial – How to Create FLORAL PORTRAITS.
Brucie ~ Forest Fairy
Going for a woodland fairy in this piece. Created the horns by taking a lizard tail from an illustration and overlayed it with a giraffe pattern. Extracted myself from the original background and placed my extraction over a dark earthy woodland scene. Added leaf and acorns to the horns. Wanted to use fairy wings again but instead of adding them to the back I decided to change it up a bit by adding it to my eyes.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day
I was not sure what to do. It is March so I put on a green hat. Decided to overlay a tree mask. Layered in a elf looking guy and added some flowers. Just a collage of stuff that I thought would look good together.
Butterfly Lady
Took this photo sitting next to the window in order to get some natural light. Overlayed some butterfly illustrations. Imported into a new photo editing app called Prisma. Played around with some of the effects. Really liked the cartoon effect.
Princess Caitlin O’Cathasaighi of Scotland
When I don’t know what to title a piece I try to come up with a royalty name. I used a name generator to come up with some random Celtic names. In this piece I layered a few elements to create the headpiece. took the body of some Victorian lady and put my head on it to give the noble feel.
